Antes de votar, debes registrarte. Para registrarte, debes cumplir con los siguientes requisitos:

Fechas límite para registrarse para votar:
Primarias: 20 de abril
Elección General: 5 de octubre
Votación anticipada (Lunes a Viernes): Cada condado debe ofrecer votación anticipada en persona de 9 a.m. a 5 p.m. Los condados pueden ofrecer más ubicaciones, pero no están obligados a hacerlo.
Primarias: 27 de abril - 15 de mayo
Elección General: 13 de octubre - 30 de octubre

Cómo votar por correo
Solicita tu boleta: Puedes solicitar tu boleta de voto en ausente en https://securemyabsenteeballot.sos.ga.gov/s/ o a través de tu junta electoral local. Las fechas para solicitarla son:
Primarias: Hasta el 8 de mayo
Elección General: 19 de septiembre - 23 de octubre
Rastrea tu boleta: Una vez que hayas solicitado, recibido, completado y enviado tu boleta, puedes rastrearla utilizando el sitio web del Secretario de Estado en mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/.
Devolución de la boleta: Si no la envías por correo, tienes la opción de depositar tu boleta de manera segura en un buzón de entrega proporcionado por la junta electoral de tu condado. También puedes entregar tu boleta en persona el día de las elecciones (19 de mayo para las Primarias o 3 de noviembre para la Elección General).

El Congreso tiene una responsabilidad significativa en la formación de la política de inmigración, aprobando leyes que regulan la inmigración, la ciudadanía y la seguridad fronteriza, y debatiendo reformas para abordar cuestiones como la inmigración indocumentada, los programas de visas y los procedimientos de asilo. Este año, uno de los dos posiciones del Senado de EE. UU. de Georgia está en elección.

Register to Vote
Before you vote, you must register. To register to vote you must be:
U.S. Citizen
At least 18 years old before Election Day
A legal resident of Georgia and the county you live in
The State of Georgia disqualifies the following people from registering to vote:
Those currently serving for a felony offense
Have been ruled mentally incompetent by a court of law
Registered voters have been deleted from voter lists in recent years, make sure you’re still registered!

Important dates for the 2026 elections

Voter Registration Deadlines:
Primary: April 20
General Election: October 5
Early Voting (Monday - Friday): Every county must offer early voting in person at the local county board of elections office from 9 AM to 5 PM. Counties may provide more locations but are not required to do so.
Primary: April 27 - May 15
General Election: October 13 - October 30
Weekend Voting: Every county must provide the option for Saturday voting. They also have the option to provide the opportunity for Sunday voting. (Note: Weekend voting hours are determined by each county registrar, but can be no longer than 7 AM to 7 PM.)
Primary: Saturdays, May 2 & 9 | Sundays, May 3 & 10
General Election: Saturdays, October 17 & 24 | Sundays, October 18 & 25
Election Day: Polls will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM. Registered voters wishing to vote on election day must report to their local polling precinct.
Primary: May 19
General Election: November 3

Here are the dates and what you need to know to vote using a mail in ballot:
Request Your Ballot: Voters can request an absentee ballot at https://securemyabsenteeballot.sos.ga.gov/s/ or through your local county board of elections. The dates to request are:
Primary: Until May 8
General Election: September 19 - October 23
Track Your Ballot: Once a voter has requested, received, completed, and mailed their ballot, they can track their ballot using the Secretary of State’s website at mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/.
Returning Your Ballot: A voter also has the option of either dropping their ballot in a drop box provided by their county election’s board or handing in their ballot in person on election day (May 19 for the Primary or November 3 for the General Election).

The Governor of Georgia is the chief executive of the state. As the state legislature passes bills, the Governor has the power to either sign legislation into law or veto it. Once bills become law, the Governor’s task is to enforce them through appointed officials and state agencies. They are also the commander-in-chief of the Georgia National Guard and are authorized to declare a state of emergency.

The Lieutenant Governor’s main responsibility, besides assuming the Governor’s duties in their absence, is to preside over the State Senate. As president of the Senate, they have tremendous influence on the legislative process as they appoint chairs for all of the Senate’s committees, affecting which bills will move forward. The Lt. Governor only votes on legislation as a tie-breaker.

The Secretary of State of Georgia has three main responsibilities: elections, business administration, and record-keeping. Their primary role is to administer elections by coordinating with every county board of elections in the state to ensure secure and accurate voting. In this role, recent Secretaries of State have regularly ordered voter purges where registered voters were taken off the voter rolls for not participating in every single election over the past few years. They also oversee business licenses and maintain records for Georgia.
